MD and DO Referrals
The Lancaster Chiropractic Rehab Center has a proud tradition of working in a complimentary fashion with local MDs and DOs. In fact, our office is proud to say that a significant portion of our patients come from medical referrals. For over 25 years, Dr. Simon has approached his chiropractic practice from a multidisciplinary point of view. That is to say, he is cognizant of the importance of treating the patient in cooperation with their medical or osteopathic physician. He is especially concerned with keeping the patient’s family physician appraised. Dr. Simon doesn’t compete with his allopathic colleague; he collaborates with him or her.
If the patient does not respond to chiropractic care within the first 2 – 3 weeks, the patient will either be referred for advanced diagnostics, such as laboratory studies, an MRI or CT scan or to a medical specialist for a further collaborative exam. This office follows the Best Practices Model of the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP). These Guidelines are nationwide in scope and were first established in 1995 as a collaborative effort by prominent researchers and practitioners in the chiropractic profession using rigorous, internationally established procedures (AGREE, RAND Study, etc.) in order to offer a model to the chiropractic practitioner on how to best treat the patient using the most reliable scientific methods available.
Why should you refer your patient?
Our office generally treats musculoskeletal conditions such as lumbar sprains, lumbar and cervical disc protrusions, cervical sprains, cervicogenic headache disorders, whiplash and sacroiliac sprains to name a few conditions. We also accept referrals from physicians who need an electrodiagnostic workup in order to rule out peripheral neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, radiculopathy, etc. We use only the latest and most proven conservative techniques that are backed by scientific studies. These techniques may include spinal manipulation, physiological therapeutics, nutritional counseling, spinal decompression therapy and spinal or extremity rehabilitation.
In addition to being the Vice President of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association (OSCA) as well as a postgraduate instructor for five chiropractic colleges, Dr. Simon is committed to staying abreast of current developments in the chiropractic profession through continuing education studies. He has earned diplomat status in nutrition (DACBN), spinal rehabilitation (DACRB), disability analysis (DABDA) and electrodiagnostics (DIBE) and has privileges at Fairfield Medical Center. He treats those conditions (and only those conditions) that you refer to him. He works hard to earn your trust and respect. After successful treatment of the referred condition, the patient is dismissed from chiropractic care and referred back to your office for further follow up if needed.
What to expect after your referral?
Following referral to our office, you will receive an initial report which will document our exam and initial diagnostic workup findings. If we proceed with care, in 2 - 4 weeks you will receive an interim report and then finally a dismissal report following discharge of the patient:

Your patient will be periodically reevaluated to make sure that he or she is making the anticipated and necessary progress. Our goal is to keep you fully apprised of the status of your patient. In turn, we welcome from your office any previous medical reports, exam findings and diagnostic imaging results on your patient that may better lead us to a more positive outcome and prognosis.

EMG Referrals
Dr. Jerrold Simon has been practicing chiropractic since 1984 and electrodiagnostics since 1993 after completing a qualified, year long course through National University of Health Sciences which culminated in a written, oral and practical exam. He served as Chairman of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association (OSCA) Council on Electrodiagnosis (EDX) for 15 years and is Board Certified in EDX by the International Board of Electrodiagnosis. He understands the need for chiropractic physicians as well as other health professionals to have an accurate neurological diagnosis to better manage their patients’ clinical demands. EDX exams and subsequent reports are useful in documenting neurological disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, cubital and radial tunnel syndromes, brachial and lumbosacral plexopathies as well as radiculopathies and myopathies.
Dr. Jerrold Simon has performed over one thousand NCV/EMG exams for dozens of doctors in the Central Ohio area over the past decade and teaches electrodiagnostics on the postgraduate level. His EDX results/reports have helped doctors better manage their patients who have neurological problems through improved diagnostic/clinical understanding. These same reports have helped many doctors secure additional allowances on their workers’ compensation cases. Dr. Simon dedicates every Tuesday afternoon for EDX exams and will either consult with your patient in your office or you may schedule your patient at his Lancaster office at 616 N. Columbus St. in Lancaster.
He will accept electrodiagnostic referrals from you for your PI and Workers’ Comp cases as well as your health insurance and private pay cases.
